Micro-Segmentation using VMware NSX™ and Horizon® 6

In this post I would like to share a demo by Rory Clements from VMware’s End-User Computing team about network micro-segmentation using VMware NSX™ and Horizon® 6. This demo shows how NSX Security Groups and Policies can be used to allow or deny specific Active Directory Groups and Users to access to resources on the network.

VCS to VCVA Converter

In this post I want to share a very cool solution provided by VMware. If you want to migratie your vCenter Server with an external SQL database to an vCenter Server Appliance with the embedded vPostgres database you can use the VCS to VCSA Converter Appliance. The VCS to VCVA Converter Appliance is the winning idea from the 2013 Fling Contest. The Fling migrates the vCenter database, roles, permissions, privileges, certificates and inventory service. The target appliance will run at the same IP address as the source vCenter. Check out the demo from the VMware Labs YouTube channel.
